Be Bold for Jesus
The passage
1This is what the Lord says: “See, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon and the people of Leb Kamai. 2I will send foreigners to Babylon to winnow her and to devastate her land; they will oppose her on every side in the day of her disaster. 14The Lord Almighty has sworn by himself: I will surely fill you with troops, as with a swarm of locusts, and they will shout in triumph over you.

The shape of the message
- A fortress’s blind spot and the danger of unseen vulnerability
- Babylon’s misplaced trust and God’s unavoidable judgment
- God’s faithfulness to His disciplined people and the call to flee
- God’s power over creation, idols, rulers, and nations
- Babylon’s fall, present fulfillment and future final destruction
- The repeated call to leave Babylon and build on the unshakable kingdom
Questions to hold while you listen
- Where do you recognise a “blind spot” in your own life—something you never imagined could bring you down?
- What would it look like for you to “come out of Babylon” as a change of allegiance, not just a change of circumstances?
- When you feel guilt over past failure, how does the difference between discipline and rejection help you think clearly about God?
- Which “walls” or forms of security are most tempting for you to trust (money, career, relationships, possessions), and why?
- What open doors or closed doors are you facing right now, and what actions or repairs might God be calling you to make?
Notes
This week
Identify one “Babylon” competing for your heart and take a concrete step to leave it—change your allegiance, not just your routine. Ask: what wrong needs to be righted or relationship restored so your steps align with God’s will.
