Be Bold for Jesus
The passage
1Hear what the Lord says to you, people of Israel. 12But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. 25Pour out your wrath on the nations that do not acknowledge you, on the peoples who do not call on your name. For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland.

- Where are you most tempted to look for direction—signs, feelings, education, money, or something else—and how does Jeremiah 10 confront that?
- What does it look like in practice for God’s Word to be the lamp and light for your path (Psalm 119:105) rather than your own instincts?
- Why would someone be afraid to let God correct their plans, and what does Jeremiah 10:23–24 say about that fear?
- How does Jeremiah’s picture of shepherds leading people astray help you think about leadership and responsibility in the life of God’s people?
- What would change in your prayer life if you stopped directing the Lord and instead poured out your heart and trusted him to do beyond what you ask (Ephesians 3:20)?
Notes
This week
Identify one place you’ve been seeking guidance or comfort from a substitute (education, paycheck, horoscope, “lucky” items, or similar), and deliberately replace it with time in God’s Word for direction.
